About Us

En Corps Dance Collective (ECDC) is a group of driven and dedicated dancers seeking growth and opportunity within themselves and the dance community. The goal of ECDC is to provide training and performance opportunities to members post graduation, working around their busy schedules. Ashley Green

President

Ashley Green was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, and started dancing at the young age of two. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Song and Dance, and Pointe. She grew up dancing in competition after competition, and pursued her dream, passion, and love of dance when she auditioned across Canada and the United States, landing a professional experience on the West Coast. She joined EnCorps in 2016 and has been with them ever since, dancing, and choreographing, as well as taking the President position on the board this past year. Outside of dance Ashley works as a Nurse in a family practice, with hopes of landing her dream job in Labor and Delivery. Dance will always be her number one passion, but nursing has now taken a close second. In her spare time, Ashley, enjoys spending time with her family, including her three dogs, as well as reading, and cheering on her Calgary Flames.

Brianne Martin

Vice President

Briannes dance journey began at age 11 and quickly became her passion, and main focus. She examined, trained, and competed in all styles with focus on Jazz & Hip Hop. At 18, Brianne travelled to Los Angeles for 6 months to train and audition. Highlights of her adventure include performing with Far East Movement, performing at a P.E.T.A charity event, training and performing with an all-girl dance troupe (PCH) and landing the lead for a local TV commercial. After moving home to Calgary, Brianne performed with local dance crews, Flomatik and illFX, and teaches at local dance studio, Airborne Dance Centre. Brianne has been with En Corps Dance Collective since 2015 and has participated in 7 shows through dancing, choreographing, and working on the Board of Directors. Outside of dance, Brianne is an office manager for a small business, a wife, and a mother to a young son. Wishing to further pursue dance and provide more opportunity to Calgary dancers, Brianne is happy to have been the Artistic Director of two performances!

"Through dance I express myself in a raw and honest manner allowing me to challenge myself to bring my visions to life. It’s empowering and affects my life in many positive ways. Dance inspires me to be a better me."

Christa Vandersanden

Treasurer

Christa grew up dancing in Calgary and fell in love from the beginning. Starting at the age of two, Christa trained and competed in various disciplines such as Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet, and Contemporary. She has taken classes in professional settings in Vancouver, Montreal, New York, and Los Angeles. Christa trained and competed with illFX, a local hip hop company, in 2018 where she was able to experience and learn about hip hop culture and broaden her view in the world of dance after high school. In 2019 Christa joined En Corps as a dancer, then started choreographing in 2020, and now sits on the Board of Directors as treasurer. En Corps has become a second home where she has wonderful friends and a space to be vulnerable and honest. When Christa is not dancing you can find her hanging out with her dog Theo, studying for her psychology degree, or baking up a storm in the kitchen. She hopes to one day receive her master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology and help young kids communicate their wants and needs with others. Christa is looking forward to a wonderful season with En Corps and is excited to see what the future holds.
